Oh, what a circus!

Here we are on Day 25 and still the revelations come. It was only some time last week that the letters page of the Telegraph carried letters on any other subject. Frankly, while I agree that all the information should be publicly available, I am becoming just a little punch drunk, bored, fed up with it all.

Do you think that it might be a situation where the media are the ones who are overdoing it?

The reason I ask is because I heard one of our commentators say something about Susan Boyle getting short shrift.

Just be happy that Jon and Kate are over here. . . they've become almost as big as GM.

That's opened up a whole new can of worms.

1. I'm not sure that I would go along entirely with the suggestion that the media are overdoing it. Sure, I'm getting tired of it - as, I am sure, are millions of other people. But I think this is something that needs to be brought out into the open - all of it. I'm certainly disappointed that there is so much of it! Those guys obviously don't accept "Whenever a doubt arises as to the right or ethics of my position or action towards others, to resolve such doubt against myself". But I suppose they would say that they had no doubt - then.

2. I'm astonished that a talent show on British TV should generate so much interest in the States. I have never watched it, but I understand that Susan Boyle came second. Probably all for the best as far as she is concerned.

3. Jon and Kate - now that is a new one to me, but I see that a lot of people who could probably find something better to do with their own lives have got caught up in living others' lives vicariously. Or something like that.

It's really that the media, when they "discover" something have a tendency to beat it to death with updates in the morning, at noon, at six and again at bedtime. When done so often changes are almost imperceptible. Item one was real news that has now become tiresome. Item two wouldn't have become the story it did story if it weren't for Youtube. As for item three it was pretty much a media creation from the time somebody realized Kate was going to have six at once. Then the tabloids had to throw in their bit and we've had something on the news almost daily for about three weeks. . . or just in time for the new season :P
